A Family Affair

When the Baekers traveled to Brazil in the Summer of 2010, they had no idea that they were embarking on a trip that would change their lives forever - and for the better. It was during this trip that they first discovered (and fall in love with) Brazil's national cocktail, the caipirinha, and with it cachaça - a uniquely Brazilian spirit made from freshly pressed sugarcane nectar.

Fast forward more than a decade and the Baekers are now the proud stewards of a thriving distillery and, just as importantly, Danville, Kentucky's premiere casual fine dining establishment, The Still at Blue Rook Distillery.

It's been an amazing ride and the entire Baeker extended Baeker family (Tom, Cindy, Zach, Cassie, Ross, Emma, Jordan, and Eduardo) would like to thank you for joining on this crazy journey!

Chef Jamie Prouten: Culinary Conneoisseur

Jamie Prouten joined The Still at Blue Rook Distillery in late 2020 after a long tenure in Napa Valley, California as a chef for some of the area's finest vineyards including Round Pond in Rutherford.

Since then, Chef Jamie has left his mark on not only The Still's cuisine, but the entire dining experience - transforming it into something truly unique to Central Kentucky.
